Modules

This module focuses on equipping learners with the essential knowledge and skills required for server installation and configuration. This includes skills in Cloud Fundamentals, Administer Identity and Resources, Administer Virtual Networking and Traffic Management, Administer Azure Storage and Virtual Machines, Administer PaaS Compute Option, and Administer Data Protection & Monitoring.
The “Python for Cyber Security (Applied Python Programming)” module equips learners with essential Python skills tailored for cybersecurity. It covers topics such as the MITRE ATT&CK framework, offensive and defensive network scanning, and techniques for detecting system vulnerabilities. Through hands-on, project-based learning, participants will gain practical experience in securing networks, encryption, and network scanning. By the end of the module, learners will be able to effectively use Python to detect vulnerabilities, implement cybersecurity strategies, and protect digital assets from evolving cyber threats.
Learners will attain proficiency in implementing information protection, data loss prevention, data lifecycle and records management, and monitoring and investigating data and activities using Microsoft Purview. Additionally, learners will gain the expertise to manage insider and privacy risks within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
This module covers a wide range of critical topics, including Managing Identity, Managing Access, Implementing Platform Protection, Securing Data and Applications, and Managing Security Operations.
Learners will delve into Microsoft 365 Defender and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, gaining a profound understanding of these cutting-edge security solutions. They will learn to leverage Microsoft Defender for Cloud to proactively mitigate potential threats, thereby safeguarding critical assets effectively.
A significant aspect of this module revolves around mastering the Kusto Query Language, empowering learners to craft intricate queries for data analysis and security monitoring. Furthermore, learners will also explore log configurations in the Microsoft Sentinel environment, enabling them to optimise log data management and real-time threat detection.
Learners will learn to identify and comprehend different Agile management frameworks, including their principles, values, and methodologies. They will gain the skills to implement Agile project management practices, including Scrum ceremonies, artifact management, and iterative planning. Additionally, they will develop the expertise to build high-performing Agile teams, fostering collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement. Learners will also acquire the ability to effectively plan and implement Agile projects, breaking down requirements, prioritizing work, and adapting plans based on feedback and changing project needs.
Learners will gain practical expertise in identifying, investigating, and responding to ransomware attacks using Microsoft security tools. They will develop a deeper understanding of how to implement remediation measures and strategies to prevent future cybersecurity incidents. This experience will enhance their confidence in handling real-world cyber threats and improve their organization’s overall security posture.
This module provides learners with expertise in systems security, cryptography, and web security. They will learn to secure computer systems, employ encryption for secure communication, implement authentication methods, and identify vulnerabilities in web-based applications. Learners also gain proficiency in block cipher algorithms for advanced data encryption. The purpose of this module is to prepare learners for roles in cybersecurity, emphasising the protection of digital assets and the maintenance of reliable system operations.
This project module involves learners actively applying the concepts that they have learned throughout their master’s programme to a real business case. It serves as an opportunity to assess their analytical, organizational, decision-making, relational, and operational skills. A tutor will evaluate the project based on criteria such as the relevance and originality of the topic, the quality of data collection and analysis, the effectiveness of analytical tools used, the practicality of proposed solutions, the application of knowledge acquired during the master’s, and the student’s commitment and rigour. The final exam includes a discussion of the project, where the assessor considers the preliminary evaluation and assesses the overall quality of the work, presentation skills, and the student’s reasoning.
