Express Web Developer (PHP)

Lithan’s Express PHP Developer course enables the learners to acquire Front End web development skills and PHP programming skills. Learner will first acquire conceptual knowledge in Front End Web Development using HTML, CSS, Java Script. Learner will also get introduced to Rich Internet Application platforms like Ajax, JavaFX, Google Web Toolkit and Flex. Learner will get introduced to Object Oriented Programming concepts using PHP and learn how to build Web Applications using PHP apart from design and implementing databases using MySQL.

 

Learner will also learn how to design, implement and test Distributed Software Applications. Learner will understand the basics of API and how to design and implement APIs. Learners will learn how to create and test Web Service using PHP.

 

This course is aligned with Singapore’s SSG WSQ NICF Framework.

 

The learner shall perform e-learning and lab exercises for each of the Instructional Units with online support from the Tutors. Subsequently, the learner shall perform a modular project with the guidance of an Industry expert who play the role of Project Tutor.

  • Identify the purpose of mark-up languages and it’s applications in structuring a page
  • Understand the purpose of styling and CSS development before attaching it to a page
  • Understand website design concepts and the methodology behind designing, implementing and testing interactive websites
  • Learn interactive website design & development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery
  • Develop rich internet application (RIA) development using JAVAFX, Adobe Flex & Google Web Toolkit

  • Define and develop CSS using predetermined styles and appropriate development tools

By the end of this course, the learner should be able to gain the following knowledge:

  • Understand the use of databases in an organizational context and the different kinds of entity-relationship modeling and normalization techniques (ER, Relational Modeling)
  • Understand database design methods and methodology, entity relationships and normalization
  • Learn about database Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and how to connect MySQL with PHP to execute CRUD statements (Create, Retrieve, Update & Delete)
  • Learn about exception handling and the benefits of using stored procedures on your web host (server)

By the end of this module, the learner should be able to apply the following skills:

  • Be able to design, create and document databases using different tools and techniques
  • Use a structured query language (SQL) to define, create and manipulate database structures (tables, etc.)
