Course Brief

The Agile Management course offers a transformative experience for businesses, providing a wealth of skills and practical tools to adapt and thrive in today’s dynamic and competitive business landscape. Upon completion, participants can expect to harness the power of Agile principles and practices, fostering a culture of adaptability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The course’s comprehensive Instructional Units ensure that participants emerge as agile leaders with the ability to understand and navigate complexity, employ empiricism and Scrum methodology effectively, lead agile teams, and deliver value-driven outcomes. In addition, the Agile Management Capstone provides a structured framework for implementing agility within an organization’s Business-as-Usual (BAU) activities or projects. This will enable efficient and predictable delivery of customer value, reducing risk and increasing customer satisfaction. Participants also benefit from enhanced collaboration, transparency and engagement culminating in positive business impact. This course equips participants with the necessary skills to navigate the ever-changing business ecosystem and to lead their organizations toward success with agility and innovation. The course begins with “Adapt to Complexity using Empiricism and Scrum,” where participants delve into the core principles of Agile Management. Learners will gain practical understanding on managing complexity in the business environment, applying empiricism to reduce business risks, and mastering the Scrum framework.

“Manage Agile Teams and Organisations Effectively” explores Scrum’s application in leadership and decision-making and successful approaches to organisational agility through data-based decision-making. The Instructional Unit instils the skills required to create strategies for growth, define metrics to measure progress, optimize business processes and create the necessary ecosystem and culture that supports business agility.

“Create Efficient Workflows and Plan a Product Release” equips participants with the skills to create efficient workspaces for Scrum teams, practical facilitation techniques to ensure effective Scrum events and release planning strategies to deliver customer value predictably. Moving forward, “Build Effective Scrum Teams & Prioritise Valuable Business Outcomes ” focuses on team dynamics and product backlog management, ensuring participants are equipped to drive the development of high-performing Agile teams. A practical case study is included detailing examples of implementation.

“Conduct Effective Scrum Events for High Performing Teams” further hones participants’ skills in sprint planning and daily scrum ceremonies, providing real-world case studies for application. “Implement Continuous Growth and Development” concludes the core Instructional Units by exploring the learning loop concept and how it fits into the broader Agile ecosystem.

Participants will also engage in hands-on projects to apply the skills learned and develop their ability to implement the agile principles and Scrum framework within their project tasks and daily work. The practical project integrates hands-on application of Scrum framework and agile leadership strategies and best practices, guiding learners to effectively implement Scrum events, design agile ecosystems, deliver customer-centric outcomes and enhance organizational adaptability. Through evidence-based management, participants iterate on project cycles, fostering continuous improvement, enabling better adaptability, and delivering tangible value to their organizations.

Further, the Agile Management Capstone encompasses real world business application through hands-on implementation in the context of the organisation. Participants map out business value, define strategic outcomes and use Scrum to deliver projects with measurable impact. The Capstone nurtures Agile leadership skills, enabling participants to drive organisational agility and cultivate an Agile ecosystem. It also strengthens participants’ ability to plan and execute empirically driven delivery cycles, ensuring streamlined product releases and positive customer feedback. This will lead to enhanced business agility, reduced waste, accelerated product delivery, and a more competitive and adaptable organization.

By completing this course, participants will emerge as Agile Management champions, capable of navigating the complexities of today’s business environment, optimizing outcomes, and propelling businesses toward sustainable success in an agile world.
