This modular course aims to enhance students' knowledge and understanding of organisational design, organisational change processes and organisational development and change. It also intends to advance students' skills and competencies in the diagnostic processes for assessing the need for change and the development, implementation, and evaluation of change strategies at all organisational levels. The themes covered will include:
- An introduction to organisational development and change
- Different types and philosophies of change
- managing change in the contexts of organisational culture, politics, gender and leadership
- Managing incremental change and the development of intervention change strategies at all organisational levels
- The organisational change agent and diagnostic process
- Managing discontinuous change; learning environments, and change in organisations.

This modular course aims to enhance students' knowledge and understanding of organisational design, organisational change processes and organisational development and change. It also intends to advance students' skills and competencies in the diagnostic processes for assessing the need for change and the development, implementation, and evaluation of change strategies at all organisational levels.
The themes covered will include:
An introduction to organisational development and change
- Different types and philosophies of change
- managing change in the contexts of organisational culture, politics, gender and leadership
- Managing incremental change and the development of intervention change strategies at all organisational levels
- The organisational change agent and diagnostic process
- Managing discontinuous change; learning environments, and change in organisations.
- Mode and Duration
- This course will be delivered 3 hours a week over 12 weeks.
- 3 hour session consists of 2 hour lecture & discussion and 1 hour experiential exercises
- It is expected that students will spend at least 10 hours per week studying this module (including lecture and tutorial time). This time should be made up of reading, research and working on exercises. In periods where students need to complete assignments or prepare for tests, the workload may be greater.

- Leadership and the role of the change agent
- Managing resistance and organisational culture
- The process of organisational change
- OD interventions: People and process, Strategy and structure
- Organisational transformation and change
- Managing change
- Managing incremental change through organisation development
- Managing discontinuous change
- Learning environments in organisations
- Course Modules
Students will acquire the knowledge and skills needed to:
- Explain the components and processes of organisation change and evaluate their implications for managers in a global and culturally diverse working environment
- Investigate, interpret and assess change and development philosophies and associated models
- Evaluate suitable change strategies for the relevant levels; individual, group, inter-group and organisation
- Explain the managerial and leadership implications of managing change in any given organisations
- Demonstrate personal and group-based skills necessary to manage change processes
- Delivery Schedule and Method
- Total duration is 36 hours
- This course will be delivered in 1 session for 3 hours a week over a period of 12 weeks.
- This unit will be delivered as a 2 hour lecture and 1 hour experiential exercise
Students will be trained by industry professionals and academicians. They have minimum of 5 years of domain experience in consulting or in academic teaching, research within a specific industry. Trainers must also have relevant industry certification and ACTA

- Education Pathway
Graduates who wish to pursue Masters of Business (ERP Systems) will get an exemption for 1 module.
- Graduation Requirements
Students must successfully pass or deemed Competent (C) in assessments. Student upon failing will need to take the module again. An additional charge applies in such cases.
