Students will understand Data Science concepts and learn how to create data models and visualize data using Excel; Create and validate machine learning models with Azure Machine Learning; Build machine learning models using R.

Students learn Full Stack Web Application Development using Java and .Net, advanced techniques and methods in Front End and Back End Web Development, Agile Web Development Methodology using SCRUM and how to integrate various applications using APIs / Web Services and how to code and manage code in collaborative coding environments using GITHUB.

Training Programme: Professional Diploma in System Support (PDSS)

The role of an IT infrastructure in any organisation today holds the greatest influence with regards to business continuity.

As a System Administrator, you will manage and maintain the IT infrastructure of your organisation especially in areas of server and network. You will also oversee any system integration or implementation to ensure the continuous evolution of your IT platform.

Prior system support experience is needed to gain entry into this job role.

Training outcomes leading to System Administrator role*:

• Implement, maintain and manage infrastructure services of Windows Server 2012. (equivalent to MCSA: Windows Server 2012).

• Install, operate and troubleshoot a small to medium-sized network (equivalent to CCNA).

• Setup maintenance procedures based on industry’s best practices and service-level agreements.(equivalent to ITIL v3 Foundation)

• Acquire IT project management techniques in areas of project scopes, timeline, cost, communication and resource utilization. (equivalent to PMP)

• Receive a Professional Diploma in System Support and be eligible for MCSA: Windows Server 2012, CCNA, ITIL v3 Foundation and PMP certification exam.

Training Programme: Professional Diploma in Innovation Management (PDIM)

Innovation is the primary driver of today’s digital economy. Understanding what is required to nurture innovation a business is a highly demanded skill by both startups and established companies.

As an IT Systems Manager, you will have the ability to design innovation strategies that can successfully take advantage of innovation opportunities. Learn how to evaluate different options, formulate and develop strategy and assess and resolve managerial challenges.

Training outcomes leading to IT Systems Manager role*:

• Understand what is design thinking and its value in business, define and frame problems in a way that allows creative solutions to be generated and learn how to approach a problem from alternative ways that produce better results than existing ones.

• Know how to apply, identify and test such solutions to create a product that suits the consumer’s need. Learn about agile concepts and apply agile foundations into creative product vision and roadmap.

• Apply SCRUM in the product development process and craft an agile product management plan to adopt agile practices and enhance product-market fit.

• Receive an NICF Diploma in Product Management and Lithan’s Professional Diploma in Innovation Management.

How are candidates approved for Train and Place (TnP)?
Candidates are not automatically approved for self-funding their training even if they want to take up the training programme. They need to demonstrate they can be employed and placed in order to be accepted into the training programme.
 
What are the approval processes to qualify candidates for TnP?
Only Singaporean and PR candidates can qualify. Candidates need to pass an online assessment test and their basic competencies are also taken into consideration. Their aptitude and attitude for training is also assessed.
 
How does Train and Place (TnP) work?
In Train and Place mode, candidates self-fund their training and are not already hired at the point of enrolment. Once hired, the potential employer does not need to cover any components of the training which has been paid for.

What is the funding for training?
Training funding applies only to certain individuals in specific age groups. The amount of funding varies depending on qualifying criteria. The table below illustrates the funding amounts.

Am I eligibe for the SkillsFuture Qualification Award (SQA) when I complete the Professional Diploma?

Can a talent be hired under a different job role than their training programme description? Eg. Training is for Digital Marketing but hired under Operations Manager role.
No, the job role must match the training. This is to ensure meaningful application of acquired skills to the requirements of the job.
 
What happens if I need to resign from my job after being placed under TnP before my training is completed for my Professional Diploma? 
As you are self-funding your training, you can continue to finish your training to receive your Professional Diploma. There is no other hidden penalty for doing so.
