IT Project Management

The objective of this modular course is to provide knowledge and skill of  Project Management.

It is accomplished through the appropriate application and integration of the following process groups Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and controlling and Closing.

 

This course imparts knowledge and skills across the below ten project management Knowledge Areas:

  • Project Integration Management
  • Project Scope Management
  • Project Time Management
  • Project Cost Management
  • Project Quality Management
  • Project Human Resource Management
  • Project Communications Management
  • Project Risk Management
  • Project Procurement Management
  • Project Stakeholder Management

This course meets the PMP® Exam requirement of Project Management Education hours as well as real world project management needs. It covers all knowledge areas of PMI’s Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®).

Session Outline Activities

Session 1: Orientation & Lecture - Live (3 hrs)

The student has to attend a Live Orientation Session conducted at LA campus or go through a recording of the Orientation Session.

After the Orientation, the Lecturer will introduce the module by conducting the lectures on:

  • IU1: Project management – introduction 
  • IU2: Organizational Influences and project Life Cycle

Session 2: Lab Exercises – off campus (2 hrs)

The Student will PERFORM activities related to IU1 & IU2 in Server Lab environment 

Session 3: Lecture – Live (3 hrs)

The lecturer will deliver lectures & demo in the class room related to the topics of corresponding IUs :

  • IU3: Project Management Processes 
  • IU4: Project Integration Management

Before session: The Student will engage in e-learning to LEARN IU3 & IU4 (off campus - 3 hrs)

The Student should complete self-assessments

Student can approach Online Support for any queries or guidance

Session 4: Lab Exercises – off campus (2 hrs)

The Student will PERFORM activities related to IU3 & IU4 in Server Lab environment

  • IU8: Project Quality Management

Session 8: Lab Exercises – off campus (2 hrs)

The Student will PERFORM activities related to IU7 & IU8 in Server Lab environment

  • IU10: Project Communications Management 

Before session: The Student will engage in e-learning to LEARN IU9 & IU10 (off campus - 3 hrs)

The Student should complete self-assessments

Session 10: Lab Exercises – off campus (2 hrs)

The Student will PERFORM activities related to IU9 & IU10 in Server Lab environment 

Session 11: Lecture – Live (3 hrs)

The lecturer will deliver lectures & demo in the class room related to the topics of corresponding IUs :

  • IU11: Project Risk Management 
  • IU12: Project Procurement Management 
  • IU13: Project Stakeholder Management 

Before session: The Student will engage in e-learning to LEARN IU11, IU12 & IU13  (off campus - 3 hrs)

The Student should complete self-assessments

Student can approach Online Support for any queries or guidance

Session 12: Lab Exercises – off campus (2 hrs)

The Student will PERFORM activities related to IU11, IU12 & IU13 in Server Lab environment 

Session 13: Project Orientation - Live (3 hrs)

Tutor will conduct a project orientation and explain the brief, guidelines and expectations for the project

After session:

  • Student will be given a project brief  which comprises few tasks in server environment
  • Student should complete the task up to the milestone 1 (off campus - 3 hrs)
  • Student can seek online support if needed

Session 14: Tutoring - Live (3 hrs)

  • Student should present the project up to mile stone 1 and seek tutor’s feedback.
  • Student can seek support & guidance for the milestone 2  of the project
  • Tutor will provide necessary feedback & guidance

After session:

  • Student will be given a project brief  which comprises few tasks in server environment
  • Student should complete the task up to the milestone 2 (off campus - 3 hrs)
  • Student can seek online support if needed

Session 15: Tutoring - Live (3 hrs)

  • Student should present the project up to mile stone 2 and seek tutor’s feedback.
  • Student can seek support & guidance for the milestone 3  of the project
  • Tutor will provide necessary feedback & guidance

After session:

  • Student will be given a project brief  which comprises few tasks in server environment
  • Student should complete the task up to the milestone 3 (off campus - 3 hrs)
  • Student can seek online support if needed

Session 16: Summative Assessment (30 mins)

Assessor will review and provide feedback  

During session: The Student should summarise the project output and answer questions posed by the Assessor
