NICF - Introduction to Business Intelligence

This course of study is to introduce the learner to Business and data warehouse and business objects  and how these can be used in business.

 

Learner will be able to attain basic knowledge of  SAP Business Warehouse, SAP S4/HANA and its applications, embedded analytics and business objects.

 

Learner will understand what an SAP BI system is and how it is used to deliver various business process across different functions of an enterprise.

 

Learner can use SAP Learning Hub & Lithan LMS for e-learning and SAP server  Access for performing simulated Lab Exercises, Module Projects.

Session Outline Activities

Session 1: Orientation & Lecture - Live (3 hrs)

The student has to attend a Live Orientation Session conducted at LA campus or go through a recording of the Orientation Session.

After the Orientation, the Lecturer will introduce the module by conducting the lectures on

  • IU 1: Introduction to SAP business warehouse
  • IU 2: Introduction to SAP S4 / HANA

Session 2: Lecture – Live (3 hrs)

The lecturer will deliver lectures & demo in the class room related to the topics of corresponding IUs:

  • IU 3: Introduction to New user experience
  • IU 4: Introduction to SAP Hana

Before session: The Student will engage in e-learning to LEARN IU1 - IU4 (off campus - 3 hrs)

The Student should complete self-assessments

Student can approach Online Support for any queries or guidance

Session 3: Lab Exercises – On Campus (3 hrs)

The Student will PERFORM activities related to  IU1, IU2, IU3 & IU4 in Server Lab environment 

Session 4: Lecture - Live (3 Hours)

The lecturer will deliver lectures & demo  in the class room related to the topics of corresponding IUs:

  • IU 5: S/4 Hana Applications
  • IU 6: Adoption of New SAP activate best practices

Before session: The Student will engage in e-learning to LEARN IU5 & IU6 (off campus - 3 hrs)

The Student should complete self-assessments

Student can approach Online Support for any queries or guidance

Session 5: Lab Exercises – On Campus (3 hrs)

The student will perform activities related to IU 5 & IU 6 in server lab environment

Session 6: Lecture - Live (3 Hours)

The lecturer will deliver lectures & demo  in the class room related to the topics of corresponding IUs: 

IU 7:  Intro to Embedded Analytics

IU 8: Intro to Data warehouse 

Before session: The Student will engage in e-learning to LEARN IU7 & IU8 (off campus - 3 hrs)

The Student should complete self-assessments

Student can approach Online Support for any queries or guidance

Session 7: Lab Exercises - On Campus (3 hrs)

The Student will PERFORM activities related to  IU 7 & IU 8 in Server Lab environment 

Session 8: Lecture - Live (3 Hours)

The lecturer will deliver lectures & demo  in the class room related to the topics of corresponding IUs:

  • IU 9: SAP ERP Business process Basics and navigation
  • IU 10:  SAP Business objects business Intelligence platform

Before session: The Student will engage in e-learning to LEARN IU9 & IU10 (off campus - 3 hrs)

The Student should complete self-assessments

Student can approach Online Support for any queries or guidance

Session 9: Lab Exercises - On Campus (3 hrs)

The Student will PERFORM activities related to  IU 9 & IU 10 in Server Lab environment 

Session 10: Lecture - Live (3 Hours)

The lecturer will deliver lectures & demo  in the class room related to the topics of corresponding IUs:

  • IU 11: SAP Integrated planning
  • IU 12: Intro to SAP BW powered by SAP HANA

Before session: The Student will engage in e-learning to LEARN IU11 & IU12 (off campus - 3 hrs)

The Student should complete self-assessments

Student can approach Online Support for any queries or guidance

Session 11: Lab Exercises - On Campus (3 hrs)

The Student will PERFORM activities realted to IU11 & IU12 in Server Lab environment 

Session 12: Tutoring - Live (3 hrs)

  • Student should present the project up to Milestone 1 and seek tutor’s feedback.
  • Student can seek support & guidance for the milestone 2  of the project
  • Tutor will provide necessary feedback & guidance

Before session:

  • Student will be given a project brief  which comprises few task in server environment
  • Student should complete the task up to the milestone 1 (Off campus – 3 hrs)
  • Student can seek online support if needed

Session 13: Project Implementation – Off campus (3 hrs)

Module Project – Implementation -2

  • Student should complete the task up to the milestone 2
  • Student can seek online support if needed

Session 14: Summative Assessment (4 hrs)

Students will attempt a Theory Test (1 hr) & Practical Test (2 hrs, 45 mins)

During session: Assessor will asses the student through oral questions (15 mins) and provide review and feedback

By end of this module, the learner should be able to gain the following knowledge:

  • Introduction to SAP Business Warehouse systems 
  • Components of SAP BW Data Warehousing Workbench
  • Knowledge of S4/Hana
  • Introduction to SAP BOBI (SAP Business Objects Business Intelligence)
  • Intro to SAP BW powered by SAP HANA

By end of this module, the learner should be able to perform the following activities:

  • Define the outline of Business intelligence Star Schema
  • Define the adoption of new SAP best practices
  • Navigate in SAP Launch pad
  • Navigate in SAP ABAP Planning Modeller
