We live in an exciting age of technological revolution. The pace of technological innovation has accelerated rapidly in just a few short years, changing the way we live, work and play, By all accounts this trend is set to continue growing faster than ever!

Today's major technology ventures were founded and driven by young entrepreneurs. Mark Zuckerberg launched Facebook in his college dormitory in 2004, when he was only 19 years old. Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded Google in 1996 when they were only 23 years old. Jerry Yang and David Filo founded Yahoo! in 1994 when they were only 26 and 28 years old respectively. 


Now giant MNCs, the startups of yesterday are now buying smaller tech startups of today in BILLION DOLLAR deals!

    The TechStart Pre-Accelerator provides you with an excellent opportunity to transform and validate your ideas into an actionable business that can be funded by investors.

    TechStart Pre-Accelerator will be delivered in workshop sessions by leading startup enthusiasts and entrepreneurs. In these sessions, you will gain the following key knowledge:

    • Lean Canvas methodologies to develop innovative business models
    • Effective go-to-market strategies
    • Determining financial viability and scalability
    • Developing an "investor-ready" business plan

    During the final session of the TechStart Pre-Accelerator, you will present a 10-minute pitch to a panel of judges. The panel will provide feedback on your pitch, giving valuable insights in your venture creation which may ultimately help you to successfully clinch an investment.

    In addition to learning, you will gain the rare opportunity to get your business plan validated by industry experts, startup founders and entrepreneurs. These mentors will also be sharing their insights on previous startup experiences and perspectives in evaluating a suitable investment portfolio.

    Develop an Innovative Business Model Using Lean Canvas (6 hours)

    Participants will gain an understanding of the lean start-up methodology, the rationale behind the framework, and will develop business models comprising the following elements: (1) identify a market problem and develop a value proposition to meet the demands of targeted market segments, (2) develop an optimal solution to meet customer requirements, identify elements of the solution that cannot be easily copied by the competition, and create diversified revenue streams, and (3) determine the cost structure, establish key performance metrics, and develop channels to reach customers.

    • Lean start-up concepts
    • Minimal viable product
    • Scalable business model
    • Business canvas areas of focus
    • Lean canvas methodology
    • Lean canvas step-by-step
    • Lean canvas case studies
    • Digital Marketing & Distribution

    Digital Marketing & Distribution Channel Development (9 hours)

    This session will provide participants with the necessary practical skills to create an effective digital marketing campaign through growth hacking strategies for products and/or services offered by start-up companies. Participants will also learn how to bring products to market more efficiently and effectively using lean marketing methods and how to leverage on offline channels.

    The subjects that will be covered under this section are:

    • Building buyers community
    • Generating marketing leads
    • Converting marketing leads
    • Online marketing channels
    • Growth hacking methodology
    • Offline channels and Distribution

    Business Viability & Scalability

    This session will help students develop their basic skills in financial planning suitable for start-ups. In particular, the session focuses on identifying financing needs for the short, medium, and long terms; predicting revenues and expenses; and producing a cash-flow forecast to present to potential investors.

    The subjects that will be covered under this section are:

    • Activity Based Costing
    • Addressable Market Sizing
    • Cashflow / Runway Analysis
  • Assessment

    Assessment comprises of two parts:

    • Each participant will need to prepare a Slide Deck (15-20 slides) that they have to submit at least 3 days before the presentation session.
    • Each participant will need to conduct a 10-minute presentation to a panel of investors who will provide feedback for 5 minutes.
